I believe that there are many things that are being overdiagnosed in children, like ADD and ADHD, etc. I also believe they are overmedicated, yes. It seems the mentality of many doctors is to simply prescribe a pill instead of trying to find other alternatives.

I definitely see your point about the U.S. being a free country that is known for its "tolerance" and generosity; voting to not allow gays and lesbians to marry goes against this. However, the people of California did vote to not allow these marriages.

I had to come back to this topic because of a news story I heard on the radio this morning. Attorney Gloria Allred has already filed suit in California's Supreme Court to overturn the election. Allred stated that the courts should not be bound to the "whim of the majority." Whim??? Why even have an election if you can get the courts to change the outcome if you don't like it? What is democracy but the "whim of the majority"?

I think that Obama's approval on the world stage alone legitimizes his presidency. Well, aside from an anthropologist you would have to get creative with your knowledge in the degree. I have a degree in sociology and anthropology and I am a teacher. Because it is such a well rounded degree (you will learn about sociology, mathmatics, biology, technology, economics and religion) you will be able to use this degree in many areas. Perhaps since Mr. Obama's Democratic party has so much power in both the House and the Senate, some of what he wants done will come to pass. Yes, it would be wonderful if every president would actually keep all the promises made during the campaign. However, that rarely happens. George H. W. Bush certainly found out how hard it is to keep those promises. Remember his "Read my lips: No new taxes!" promise?Becoming president is probably easier than being president. Now Obama will have to learn about compromise and partisan politics.
